Music Charts are small pieces of paper, listing the top songs for a given
period, normally a week. They were usually given out at
record stores, or by the stations when they did remote
broadcasts for special events.
I remember that we sometimes had DJs at our School
dances and they would give out stacks of them. They
would show the popularity of a song in a list of 30 or 40,
showing the artist , sometimes the number of weeks on
the chart, and its’ position on the last chart. The front of
the chart would show the station logo and maybe one of
the DJs picture, the back would normally list upcoming
events and ads for some commercially available product.
These little pieces of music and radio history have become very
collectable
